As someone living in Canada, I can tell you that this was inevitable. The battle should never have been to prevent it. That would never happen. The battle should have been to enshrine individual rights for medical professionals to refuse to participate or assist in any way without consequence.
ReplyDeleteIn Ontario, for example, the law says that doctors can object but the regulatory college has said "Screw that, leave your values at the door and live by ours if you want to work" That's the next step.
