I am familiar with the origins of the prayer and the holy Rav Amnon, but how does that fit here?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20257999.post-82400915098060794812008-06-24T12:08:00.000+03:002008-06-24T12:08:00.000+03:00I hear you, but I do not see this campaign as bein...I hear you, but I do not see this campaign as being seperate from the other soldiers. Today marks the 2 year anniversary of Gilad Shalits captivity, so we mark it special for him.

About the Sultan Yaaqov soldiers, it is sad, and we seem to be ignoring their plight. The government, and many people, seem to have lost hope for them a long time ago. A while back I wrote a post about that fact..

But this campaign, I think should not be looked at as free Shalit and forget about the others. It is just because it is the anniversary. And of course because it is so fresh it has more of an effect now.Rafi G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00699851287106903971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20257999.post-22694938588726006582008-06-24T11:03:00.000+03:002008-06-24T11:03:00.000+03:00I've thought about this, but haven't decided. Of c...I've thought about this, but haven't decided. Of course, I want *all* Israel soldiers to be free, but not just Gilad Shalit.

I feel that since his father is a left-wing activist that their cause is getting more airtime.

In addition to Gilad, there is also Ron Arad, Guy Hever, Zachary Baumel, Yehuda Katz, and Zvi Feldman. The last three have been "missing" since Amram Mitznah directed their tank unit into an ambush on June 11, 1982.

I also don't like trading 400 or 500 terrorists for per Jew. IMHO, this only increases their desire for kidnapping more. We can also refer to the origin of Unetanneh Tokef as a supporting halachic opinion on the subject.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
