Bagadz? The Interior Minister? A committee of rabbis?<br /><br />And on what basis? What kind of organizations are we talking about? Is an organization that wants to allow public transportation on Shabbat an organization seeking to harm the Jewish character of the State? How about an organization seeking to eliminate the rabbinute? Or seeking recognition of Reform rabbis? Maybe an organization such as Planned Parenthood could be considered such an organization?<br /><br />Maybe someday the Interior Minister, or whoever decides on this, will be from Meretz. Maybe that future minister will decide that since Judiasm is opposed to occupation of other peoples, any organization promoting settlement in the territories is seeking to harm the Jewish character of the State. Or an organization that promotes full time learning at the public expense, clearly an anti-Jewish value according to some world views.<br /><br />All in all, I've heard of better ideas than this one.Baruch Gitlinnoreply@blogger.com
