I first grew very skeptical, at the very least, of all these charges against Bibi when it was alleged at some point that he was redeeming tens of thousands of shekels worth of wine bottles at the local supermarket and Sara was keeping the cash. Leaving aside that getting tens of thousands of shekels in deposits would require consumption of the impossible number of about a hundred thousand bottles of wine a year, I knew firsthand- because his supermarket is our supermarket- that the store (then) only redeemed bottles for store credit, not cash. That's when I realized that all of these cases, and the associated rumors, are most likely nonsense.
ReplyDeleteI dont know if they are nonsense or not, or if some are nonsense and some are serious, but you dont think the intern he is sending to redeem bottles knows he cant get cash at that supermarket so goes to a different supermarket for this? it isnt even possible?
ReplyDeleteThe accusation was quite specific in the details.
DeleteAnd he's not sending some "intern" with thousands of bottles. Come on, you just made that up.
you mean the accusation is that Benjamin Netanyahu went himself to the supermarket with thousands of bottles (and obviously it wasnt thousands of bottles at one time)??? that sounds crazier. to me it is obvious that when they say Bibi turned in bottles it is surely an intern or an aide
Deleteand again, I am making no claim that he did it or didnt do it. just commenting on the quote. I have refrained from commenting anything about his legal issues since they began
DeleteNobody drinks thousands of bottles of wine.
DeleteChurchill is reputed to have drunk a fifth of whisky every day. As for wine, a bottle a day over ten years is 3650 bottles. That is pretty easy, and I would say quite common.
