Can anyone explain how someone of the Torah caliber and worldy knowledge as Rav Shachter would repeat this inane conspiracy theory?

The evidence is there that at the very least the Conservatives and the Israeli Left worked together to take advantage of the anti-WZO stance of the charedi leadership.
