Quote of the Day

There is a building that is completely destroyed. A 70 year old man asked me to rescue his tefillin from the rubble. My assistant went in to the area against the directives and rescued the dusty tefillin. 3 buildings are definitely going to be demolished, we have over 2000 evacuees. I am telling the residents: Say Baruch Hashem and go "bentch gomel".

    First part is not good. The man should not have endangered himself to save a pair of tefillin. There is no heter for that.

    My guess is what makes this story nice is that the Ramat Gan mayor is an avid secular and the last guy expected to say this other than Huldai?
