Two changes should be put into effect:
1. Raise the standards of the Rabbanut hechser so that it is workable for a larger segment of society with standards that are upheld, mashgichim that are more accessible and publicize the changes.
2. Have a Mehadrin hechser (which has no connect to the Edah) and let it be known what the standards are and how they are implemented.

As a Torah Observant Jew I look for Mehadrin and would like to minimize the hold that Badatz has on kashrut...for many reasons. yoninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20257999.post-40756422282587548072013-08-26T15:40:01.988+03:002013-08-26T15:40:01.988+03:00I forgot to post the link to the article:

This betrays a "they all look the same to us" mentality.
2) It's not even private group. What could be wrong with getting a mehadrin hechsher if they think it would be good for business? We only eat in restaurants with mehadrin hechshers. One of our children recently moved to Ra'anana and we've been looking for the mehadrin restaurants. We've been to two, so far, and know about a couple of more we plan to try out. The more the better. From my skimming of the article in Hebrew, I don't see the name of the restaurant in question. Do you know what it is?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
