The I realized thst you are talikng about Eretz Yisrael. There it is rare, as rhe first day of Tom Tov rarely falls out on a Sunday. In Chu"l, it is much more common, since a two day Yom Tov often falls on Shabbos and Sunday.<br /><br />Similar thing with eruv tavshilin.
