To Our Neighbors and Friends,
I refer to the article posted on Life In Israel blog on 27 Shvat 5768, written by a member of my shul, which accurately reported a drosha which I gave to my Ohr Shalom community, on Parshas Yisro.
After several years of hearing damaging rumors questioning the Daas Torah and ethical standards of Lema'an Achai, the time had come to publicly acknowledge the rumors and forcefully protect the organization's good name.
In no way do I link these rumors to the fine and upstanding people who run the Kupa Shel Tzedaka, who I am certain, would be the first to denounce them.
Those amongst our community, who have taken my defense of Lema'an Achai, as an opportunity for them to publicly and cynically attack the good work of the Kupa Shel Tzedaka, have no connection to Lema'an Achai, and we denounce any such a response.
As is well known, Lema'an Achai has always implemented a rigorous policy of positive marketing and this is strictly adhered to by our staff and our volunteers.
On behalf of Leman Achai, I ask those who support our organization, as well as those who do not, to always do so with Derech Eretz and mutual respect – the founding pillars on which Lema'an Achai is built and which are the cherished values of the Soloveichik family.
Bekavod Rav,
Rav Chayim Soloveichik
