Lemaan Achai does it again!

Lemaan Achai does it again!

They have spearheaded an effort to provide support and relief to families from the south who have been bombarded with rockets and needed to get away from the "war zone".

Bet Shemesh has begun welcoming many residents from the south. Hopefully their stay in bet Shemesh will be brief and they will be able to return home soon. I hope their stay is only lengthy if they are so impressed by the community and its warm embrace that they decide to move to Bet Shemesh because of it. Otherwise I hope they can go home soon.

Here are a few images of Lemaan Achai's initial efforts, including:
Here are some picures, including
1. Nurit Nachmani - Mother from Ashdod. A missile hit just outside her building. She got up and came to Bet Shemes, staying with her mother. Her husband stayed down there for work. She came to the Community Center looking for the Lema'an Achai ShemeShop (Thrift Store).
2. Kids from Shomreia ex Gush Katif/Atzmona. Now learning in Community Center, RBS. "We're from Gush Katif; we're sort of used to moving around."

3. Kids from a Talmud Torah in Kireat Gat, now learning in Myerhoff Community Center. "Our brave soldiers are fighting in Gaza, and we're ging to stop protecting them with our Torah learning?!"

The problem is that providing relief for hundreds, and what could become thousands, of refugees from the south costs money. Please donate to the Lemaan Achai war relief fund generously.

  1. If I'm not mistaken, the TT shown above is from Shomria, which is made up of Gush Katif "mephunim"
