The following, translated into English, is how the Neturei Karta sent out their weekly newsletter this week - with this introduction:
We happily announce the passing this past week of MK Avrum Ravitz, his name and memory should be blotted out. In the downfall of the wicked, we sing, so all your enemy should be lost.
They are a sick group of nutcases...
Wow.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link?
But at least they are good, G-D fearing Charedim.
ReplyDeleteSo what if their views on Zionism are a little extreme?
How far off do you think the Eida HaCharedis is from this sentiment? (not publically of course)
But we anglo Charedim wouldn't think of eating something that wasn't Badat"z..correct?
If their hashkafa is bad (which often it is) perhaps their hashgacha is equally questionable.
Perhaps it is we who should check our own priorities.
no link. it was the intro to their weekly email newsletter.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if we should say באבוד רשעים רנה and כן יאבדו כל אויביך השם to the leaders of Neturai Karta when they die. I have a lot of tolerance for many groups of people, but very little for these idiots.
ReplyDeleteCompare and contrast this to the praise given by many Hareidim to Tommy Lapid when he died.
it seems that when someone dies, no matter how much we did not like the guy, no matter how poorly we thought of him when alive, no matter how much we disagreed with him, we seem to always find ways to praise him after death, to mention his good points, etc. (maybe we should do that more during life as well and not just wait until the person is dead?) That seems to be basic humanity, unless the person was a complete scoundrel.
ReplyDeleteIt seems these NK people are not just arguing over hashkafa. They lack basic sensibilities and humanity.
