The Gaavad of the Eida Hareidis, Rav Tuvia Weiss, recently spoke out against the people who distribute pashkevils.
Rav Weiss said these people are tremendously chutzpahdik, and we must distance them away from ourselves, throw them out of shul, and it is prohibited to read their words, and one should not bring their writings into one's house...
I don't know if he was referring to a specific pashkevil (one directed at him or the Eidah?) or all pashkevils even including the ones that declare war against the Zionists, the need to protest against the digging of bones, announcing this or that cherem or chillul hashem, etc.
What he said seems very generically general and can be taken whatever way someone wants to take it. Regardless, it is the beginning of a change in direction...
I don't think it was a general statement at all - it says clearly in the article that it was specifically said in response to pashkevilim against Toldos Aharon and Rav Weiss. Wishful thinking about the start of a change in attitude toward pashkevilim as a whole.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is going to have to post a pashkevil against pashkevilim.
