Assuming this video wasn't shot in the first few days after the new coin came into circulation, I find this rather telling that someone who so many people look up to as being the final word in everything with infallible abilities to give daas Torah doesn't know something as commonplace as his country's coinage and yet he somehow know everything about everything else...
oh well. I guess someone thought it was disrespectful... forget daas torah and infallibility - someone like Rav Chaim Kanievsky who is supposedly so involved with tzedaka organizations and money distribution and he doesnt know about the shnekel? how involved can he really be...
this reminds me of the old joke that when the satmar rebbe zatza"l came in front of the american judge for his citizenship case, he was asked whose picture is on the dollar bill? his reply: i don't deal with less than a hundred.
