Liveblogging the war Day 2

Is the war a day late?

12:47 pm: Exchanges of fire between Israeli and Lebanese forces have been reported on Israel's northern border.According to the reports, a mortar shell landed in the northern Galilee region. (Ynet)

12:50 pm: 2 Katyushas land in open areas in the Galilee

12:58 pm: Israel responds by shooting a volley of 10 mortars into Southern Lebanon

13:00: rockets lands near group of soldiers. 2 injured.

13:41 : Israel TV has announced that at 8PM tonight Hassan Nasrallah of Hisballah fame will be making a speech.

14:47: shooting again between Lebanon and Israel

15:05: at least 3 Lebanese soldiers have been killed in the latest gunfight

15:08: Mayor of South Lebanon village has said that residents have begun leaving the area

15:26: Attempted stabbing at Shuafat checkpoint in Jerusalem

16:00 - foreign reports indicate that Israeli forces have suffered some injured soldiers, though IDF censors are not yet releasing the information.

16:00 - Hizballah might be making a statement soon, in addition to the planned 20:30 speech by Nassrallah

16:00 - IAF has joined the fray and is attacking Lebanese army battalion bases

16:21 - it seems that the shooting started when IDF troops crossed the fence and tried to clear some brush between the fence and the "border". A Lebanese soldier started shooting at them, seemingly on his own authority.

16:30 - Israel warns Lebanon about harsh results if shooting continues
