Google Instant

Google's new feature, called Google Instant, is kinda cool.

If you don't know what I am talking about, just go over to Google and start typing something in the search field. Google Instant has been integrated into the regular search and while you are typing your word Google is already predicting the possibilities of what you will type, searching for it, and displaying your results, which change as you keep typing.

Google says that Google Instant will save the user 2-5 seconds each search, which translates to 11 man-hours of time every second and 1000 man-hours of time every week..

This will free up tons of time for people to spend with their families and accomplishing real-world accomplishments in the time that would have been, and has been, wasted performing searches for information.

Yet for some reason with all the technological advances people just don't seem to direct the "extra" time into more quality time, rather expect to do more of the same just faster.

  3. Google Instant based on Israeli development.
Prof. Yossi Matias, director of Google's Israel R&D Center, said, "We are glad of the opportunity to be part of the launch of Instant and to create a better and faster surfing experience for millions of surfers around the world."
