I saw this ad in the Yisrael HaYom newspaper yesterday... It is for a tv episode of "LaRedet B'Gadol" - Israel's version of "The Biggest Loser", in which contestants try to lose the most amount of weight.
This specific episode is called "The Haredim", as the contestants featured are Haredim. The byline is "They will do anything to be able to start a family". I guess they have fertility problems due to their obesity, and are therefore willing to do this in order to start a family. I am surprised, if they are really haredim, that she didnt ask for a t-shirt with slightly longer sleeves...
I wish them luck and that they lose a lot of weight.
The extra sleevage would have added too much weight and they'd be eliminated :-)
ReplyDeleteThose aren't Charedim. And if they are, they won't be for long because their community will shun them.
ReplyDeletehe is wearing a black kipa, so I think the tv station is just taking advantage of that for marketing purposes.. the word "haredim" is always a flag in the newspaper and catches the eye
ReplyDeleteJust saw that ad at Tzomet Kfar Saba and was wondering the exact same thing.

ReplyDeleteI know them in real life. they are from charedi families (at least she is)but have moved slightly more modern (she wears a wig and he wears a kipa. although i didn't check the color :))
ReplyDeleteI took a look at the episode (yeseterday was the introductory episode introducing all the contestants). I dont care about the show, so I only skipped around looking for them. She is dressed pretty tzanua, more so than in the advertisement. except for at the weigh in
