Rav Amnon Yitzchak Suffers A Setback By Rav Elyashiv

In case you missed it, Bechadrei and Kikar Shabbos haredi news websites had articles yesterday about Rav Amnon Yitzchak renewing his attempts to fight against the "hassidic singers" and stop them from being so mainstream.

Rav Amnon Yitzchak is now working on getting the gedolim to all sign on a "kol koreh" calling on the people to not buy the disks of said performers, and not go to their concerts. Yesterday, Rav Yitzchak went to Rav Elyashiv to get his support for his campaign, and his signature for the kol koreh.

To his surprise, Rav Elyashiv basically told him to jump in a lake. Rav Elyashiv refused to sign or lend his support. According to Bechadrei, Rav Elyashiv said klal yisrael has bigger problems to worry about, and this takes a back seat to the bigger problems.

Either Rav Elyashiv has figured out how to say "no" to the askanim, or his askanim have a reason to not push this campaign...
