A Rabbi, A Priest, And A Monk Walk Into a Burger Joint...

Can a restaurant be cursed? I guess so. I dont see why not. If the Cubs can be cursed, a restaurant can be cursed..
Can said restaurant then be blessed, with spiritual leaders from a variety of religions leading the blessings, sort of as a hedge against picking the wrong religion? I guess so.

So, the joke begins.. A rabbi, a Catholic priest and a Buddhist Monk walk into a burger joint...

No joke..

The owner of the burger joint was concerned that the location is cursed. After all, all the restaurants that were there before his failed and closed down very quickly. He figured he would get rid of the bad spirits, and get some good mojo, so his restaurant would be successful.

And that would be the venue for a rabbi, a priest and a monk to walk in to the same place, each offering his blessings.

And funny enough, the rabbi is the only one who has done such a thing before!

The NY Post reports:
A catholic priest, rabbi and Buddhist monk walked into a new burger joint in Chelsea today to bless the place.
The Buddhist monk turned to the priest and said, “This is my first time blessing a burger joint.” The priest doesn’t say much, just sprinkles some holy water, but the rabbi said, “The last restaurant I did was a hot dog joint in New Jersey.”
Seriously.
The religious men gathered to try to break a curse on 470 W. 23rd St., the new home of New York Burger Co.’s third franchise. Over the years, about half a dozen restaurants have opened and quickly closed there.

The most recent, Il Bordello, hung in for just nine months last year.
Other once promising eateries to open at the spot include Le Solex, Jerry’s Bar & Grill, and the Flamingo Room.
So the New York Burger Co. called in some religious heavyweights before opening next week.
The owners invited Robert Chodo Campbell, a Buddhist priest; Father Ed Sombilon a Catholic priest from Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Lee, NJ; and Rabbi Dennis Tobin from Temple Beth-El, in the Bronx.
“We hope to get rid of the bad spirits and start a fresh and have a good vibe here,” said Brice Moldovon, who owns the new restaurant with his family.
“This is my first time blessing a burger joint,” said Campbell who dotted the space with Buddhist holy water. “I’m more used to doing baby blessings.
I wonder how much such a service costs...

  1. Apparently, the Vatican still has an "Exorcism Division."

Were any of you aware of that?

  3. it may be a "funny" joke but I hear of several successful, experienced businesses to fail on cursed locations, not matter what. The issue should be taken seriously
