Ignoring And Then Dealing

Interestingly enough, a member of the Labor party who lives in South Tel Aviv, where they are suffering with the issue of the Sudanese refugees, has publicized a letter written to Labor minister Shelly Yachimovitch.

The letter criticizes the Labor party as only looking out for the refugees and Arabs and not for the residents of the neighborhood that are in distress. The letter describes the burden they have placed on the area and how difficult it has become, yet nobody is helping find solutions, but only painting a picture of racism. The only people interested in the area's residents are MKs like Michael Ben-Ari, so that is who they turn to.

That's how our government works. They do nothing until there is a crisis, and then they look to the media to see what the popular position is and that is the agenda they then choose to promote. That is why Eli Yishai took the brunt of the blame for the Carmel forest fire despite tens of years of neglect and that is why the city strike was only averted an hour before it was set to take effect, and that is how the country is responding to the fire in the trains last week.
