The Internet has made it much easier to sell your old, unwanted stuff. not just to sell, but to get rid of in general. What you consider garbage, and what would have always previously been considered garbage, now is somebody else's treasure. You can always find someone who wants your junk, for sentimental reasons, usefulness, historical, or whatever other reason might exist.
Instead of throwing your junk out, many people are using eBay or other second hand sites to auction or sell their junk, making a little bit of money in exchange, or even just to benefit someone else in such an easy way with something I call garbage.
Agora is an Israeli website that helps you find people to take your 2nd hand junk off your hands. The one catch is that the listings are free only - you cannot charge for anything you list there. just finding someone who wants to take your junk off your hands is enough of a compensation for this website.
Who would have thought that it could be used to help you arrange your travel plans??!! Someone recently listed on Agora the option of taking their baby for 1 month, so they could travel.
The listing said "8 month old baby, especially cute, available for 1 month due to travel. Do not call on Shabbos or holidays", with a picture of a baby.
The news station MAKO, contacted the lister, who for obvious reasons insisted on remaining anonymous, insisted the baby is not for sale. He said "We would not sell our baby even for a billion dollars.". He then immediately removed the listing from the website.
The father said the listing was put up as a joke. he had listed a cabinet to give away and then decided to also list the baby as a joke, curious to how people would respond. Some sent in notes saying how funny it was, while others sharply told him off, saying he should be jail for such an offer.
