Mehadrin Routes To The Kotel On Shavuos

Mehadrin Routes To The Kotel On Shavuos

Somebody, anonymously, is putting up signs around Jerusalem encouraging men and women to walk on separate routes to the Kotel Shavuot morning. Actually, they want females to stay home completely - the paths are narrow and it causes a mixing of the genders. However, any women who will be going to the Kotel should be sure to leave using a route separate from the route being used by the men.

Of course the person who chose the route made sure to give the men the shorter, more direct, route out of the Old City, via Damascus Gate or Shaar Shchem, and directs the women to the longer route out of the Old City, via Jaffa Gate, Shaar Yafo.

  1. I would think the majority of those who walk to the kotel overnight are not the type to worry so much about groups of the opposite gender within a 5 meter radius. And therefore not the type to change their walking plans.

I hope no one is planning to "enforce" these routes.

  2. The time is coming for the Jewish Taliban to take over....get ready!

In a few years it won't be just a pashkevil..it will be a Knesset (or whatever they will choose to call their Vaad HaRabonim) enforced law.
