Write or Call Chadash About Balanced OROT report

The writer for the English side of the Chadash newspaper wrote, once again, a very balanced article about the OROT situation. You can see the difference between the Engliish and the Hebrew very clearly. Some people think Chadash showed how balanced they are by doing that, but the truth is that they are upset with the writer who wrote the balanced article.

I think it would be a good idea to let Chadash know you are pleased (if you are indeed pleased) with the way the English article about OROT was balanced, especially in light of how one-sided the Hebrew article was.

If you are indeed pleased, it would be good to either send them a letter or call the Chadash offices to let them know. They might not be a balanced newspaper in general, but at least let them know the anglos appreciate balanced reporting.

The phone number for the office is 02-999-1234, and the email address is g9991234@gmail.com and chadash999@gmail.com

  2. I don't think it is a good idea. I think the Hebrew people don't understand English, and the English people don't understand Hebrew. So leave it as it is, or else the Hebrew side will start poking their noses in the English side!

  3. How has the Chadash newspaper shown its disapproval for the English Orot article?

  4. Plenty of people including Rabbonim who don't read English found out quickly what the English says and were very upset with the "renegade" translator.

  5. For those who don't know..Chadash was owned by Matti Rosenzweig..the "dover iriyah".

Although he was legally required to sell it to take his position he still has plenty of influence hence you will always see a very pro Abutbol/Charedi stance.

  7. Rafi, do you really think it was planned that way?

My take on the situation: the English editor got the Hebrew article and was told to translate and abstract for the English news round-up. She was so incensed at the whitewashing of the thugs and the sickening anti-Orot slant of the article that she recomposed the article entirely in her own words, which were, in all honesty, probably more emotive than anything I've ever read in Arutz-7 against Arabs.

In short, I'm guessing this was her final, signal act of defiance against Chadash's disgusting support for the sikrikim, and I don't think she will be appearing any more as editor of Chadash's English division. (Read: no English section for Chadash this week, unless they managed to find a new English editor at very short notice.)

Kol hakavod to her - and BUZ Chadash.

  9. planned? what do you mean? I didnt say anything about being planned.

btw, I know exactly how it happened, and it had nothing to do with the editor, and all to do with the writer.
The purpose of this post and call/write campaign was to provide some protection for the writer. Chadash was very angry when they realized the article he snuck by them into the paper. I thought that maybe by people calling and saying how good of an article it was it might counter-balance the complaints and provide him with some breathing room.
