As reported recently in the news, and mentioned on this blog, some Jewish neighborhoods have been fighting with neighboring Arab villages regarding the regularly increasing volume of the muezzin that is disturbing Jewish residents at all hours of the day and especially of the night. Some of the neighborhoods administrative committees have threatened to retaliate with acquiring massive speaker systems and having them face the Arab villages, and hard rock music would be played over them.
Who blinked first?
The news is now reporting that the Arabs have backed down in light of the threats and have agreed to remove the speakers facing the Jewish neighborhood.
Can we achieve peace by using similar negotiating tactics?
