Orthodox comedian David Finkelstein has some funny moments, but overall I don't particularly enjoy his style... I'd really like to see what type of audience he is performing in front of, to see if they understand his Orthodox humor or not... I was actually shocked a bit by the content he chose in this performance...
I watched Standing Up on Amazon and really enjoyed his comedy. His dry comedic style with no smile is very funny. I felt bad for him because it looked like he is torn between his religious beliefs with strict rules and his passion to do stand up comedy. He was easily accepted and supported by non-Jews but wish his own community would accept him as well. My prayers go out to him

Too self-deprecating also.
ReplyDeleteHe is AWESOME, and I think his performance and style are both unique and funny.
