Yes - but only to an ever-diminishing group. Haffner/Avner made עליה in 1947 and he probably Hebraized his name during Ben-Gurion's first ministry. Having been known as Avner for 60 years plus leaves you, Anonymous, in a really minuscule group, but if that's what lights your fire then so be it.
Incidentally, and while we are discussing these things, why haven't you Hebraized your surname to עלמוני, I wonder? And in case you ask, I have always been known as "Darth Zeidah" - here, at any rate.
A fine conceit and an example of one-upmanship on your part, methinks, Anonymous. You would probably claim to have known Abba Eban "since the days when he was called Aubrey Stone"(!) as one pretentious Jewish, ex-South African woman once confided in me.
