burn, baby, burn! photo credit: 0404 |
This bonfire was built in Rechasim, and is being touted as the largest Lag b'Omer bonfire in the world. It was built from 1800 pallets of wood. It took 8 trucks to deliver all these pallets. They have some video of it being lit on the 0404 Facebook page.

Hmmm...I wonder just how much carbon was released into the air, and many trees will have to give their lives to make up for all those pallets which could have been reused many times. And it was all for a "holiday," which many still believe that is the yartzeit of Rashb"i, even though the Ben Ish Hai himself said that it was not, and the original transcripts of Rav Hayim Vital turned out not to say that it was either.
ReplyDeleteWhen are people finally going to wake up out of their numbed out galuth mentality?
Actually I believe most of them resisted the 2nd day Yom Tov that was proposed this year....

I imagine that many of the pallets were broken, but FWIW, usable pallets can be bought sold for about 10-11NIS each. Do the math.
