Movies and Eretz Yisrael (video)

Here is an interesting idea I never heard before. Rav Reuven Fireman says that movies came into being at about the same time that Jews started moving to Eretz Yisrael. He explains that we needed to develop the power of our imagination in order to be able to imagine moving to Eretz Yisrael, and that's what the movie industry did...

  3. Correlation is not causation. Kal V'Chomer unrelated things do not imply causation!

    It makes just as much sense to say that the invention of the motor car enabled mass migration. It's a ridiculous assertion that because two unrelated things happened at roughly the same time that one caused or provided impetus for the other. Is this an example of the famous "talmudic" logic?
