most of what he says even makes sense... except about the Supreme Court stopping money for boys who didnt get drafted, even though its not their fault. Why isnt it their fault? they chose to not. It is for cultural reasons, and maybe justifiable, but I disagree with his statemented that they did nothing to deserve it.

Where is the Bayit Yehudi during all of this? The money transfer was blanketly done to all yeshivot, even the national religious ones. Incredible how we complain how bureaucratic the government is, how Lapid in one phone call can instantly change the workings of two government ministries, and how the Bayit Yehudi does not even elicit a whimper of complaint of this mass generalization and blanket punishment. Estimated up to 2000 yeshiva students directly relevant to the punishment to over 100 000 others. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteAnd what about the hypocrisy of not handling the Arabs??? There is in fact absolutely no law saying they have an exemption, it is also a 'personal' Minister of Defence request that is never challenged.
And what about the universities that continue to get funding even though draft-dodgers [and Arabs] are studying there?
My seventeen year old son from chutz learetz had been learning in a chareidi yeshiva in Eretz Yisrsel for a year. He wants to return to chul because he is sick of being abused by chilonim on the street telling him to go to the army. If this would happen on the streets in America I'm sure the ADL would be screaming anti-semitism
