9pm came and went and there was nothing but silence, while the timer on the Hamas website stood at 0. About 15 minutes later the volley of missiles was on its way (BH they were all shot down by Iron Dome).
I dont know what went wrong - were their clocks off? do they work on something similar to "Jewish time"? was it deliberate, because we were expecting it at 9 so they played us a little more? etc.
With the ceasefire seemingly ready to take effect at 9am, in about 20 minutes from now, one must wonder if the same thing is going to happen. Does 9am really mean 9:15 or 9:20am? At 9 will we see a volley of missiles and then only begin the ceasefire at 9:15?

Rafi,
ReplyDeleteHamas has rejected the cease fire. Why the Israeli cabinet continues to discuss is a bit bizarre. But hey, that's how they are. So there should be no expectation for Hamas to stop at 9, 9:10, 9:15,....
Hamas will continue to fire rockets for a few days to show it hasn't been defeated and to save face with the Arab Street.
ReplyDeleteBut in the end, they don't have any real military options. If they want to continue fighting, they can. But they'll only worsen their position.
Sooner than later they will stand down because they can't get more.
