I think that the bigger issue is that when he was asked whether the UN is applying a double standard by investigating Israel again, but not investigating the US or Russia for much more serious crimes, he agreed that there is a double-standard, and that more powerful countries will never be investigated because of the influence the hold in the UN - yet he gave no indication that this admission undermines not only this investigation, but the UN as an unbiased institution.
ReplyDeleteHis own double standard: he says that he can't prejudge whether Hamas is a terror organization because he's starting looking into this fresh, but he already wants to put Netanyahu on trial.
ReplyDeleteHe's just another reason to ignore the UN...
My personal favorite is his assertion that Israel gets off lightly in the Security Council. I suggest he is an alien who has no knowledge of what's been happening on Planet Earth since the late 60s.
ReplyDeleteYa know, with a last name like his, we should be spreading the rumor that he is probably really Jewish, and his name is Shabbos. ;-)
Apparently, his father is Jewish...
