MK Eichler: give a grant to soldiers getting married (video)

MK Eichler, while working to knock out the law being passed by Yair Lapid regarding the cancellation of VAT on certain home purchases, suggested that if the government really wanted to help soldiers they should offer a grant to all soldiers who have now served in Gaza that when they get married, the government will give a grant of 100,000 NIS towards the purchase of a home.

  1. Not sure why serving in Gaza is the *only* army service that deserves a subsidy. Is it going to be only for soldiers who physically went into Gaza, only for those who fought during any war time or a specific war time (what about 1967)? Does it matter whether they served for only one hour during a (cough, cough) humanitarian ceasefire or the entire war period? What about soldiers who are stationed in the North and cannot request that they also serve in Gaza?
