The big problem seems to be when crossing the street. Maybe we take a glance to see if the road is clear, maybe not. But between the guy crossing the street not paying attention because he is using his phone, and the guy driving the car not paying attention because he is sending text messages or checking Facebook while driving, accidents are bound to happen!
A law has been proposed by MK Chamed Amar (Yisrael Beyteynu) that would make it illegal to cross a street while using a mobile phone, even with headphones, or any other device used for playing music (e.g. mp3 players, ipods, etc).
Amar says Israel is very high placed in the list of developed countries in the number of accidents involving pedestrians. Amar says there is no difference between driving while using any of these devices and using them while crossing the street.

I wonder if this will include devices like Google Glass.
We won't even notice the cops in the area ready and waiting to give out tickets, as we will be too engrossed in our phones to notice.
