הפרח למיויש כאלו שיודעים להגיד תודה, וכזה הוא הרב מיכאל פלצ'ר מרמת בית שמש, שתפס יוזמה אישית והגיע לתחנת כיבוי האש בבי...

translation:
there are those who know how to say thank you, as does Rav Michoel Fletcher of RBS who took the initiative and went to the fire station in Bet Shemesh with fllowers to thank the staff of the station for their faithful work protecting the residents from the large fire that happened two weeks ago on a Friday.

Rabbi Fletcher says: they received me warmly and said gratitude from the residents warms their hearts. With hashgacha pratis, the clerk in the store who sold me the flowers was the daughter of one of the firemen, and hshe was happy that a haredi Jew wanted to show gratitude to her father, and she told her family and friends about it.

I did this for three reasons;
1. it is the right thing to do, to say thank you to those who work hard, and even risk their own lives to protect us and our property.
2. to strengthen the mutual respect between different sectors in in Bet Shemesh, especially after a period of time where some were fanning the flames of hatred against haredim
3. to make a kiddush hashem by showing the Torah teaches good manners

While I was in the station, Rabbi Fletcher says, there was a call and I saw how tey immediately run to the truck to respond to the call. Afterwards I said to the commander that we need to learn from you, that when the alarm clock rings we need to get up immediately and run to daven without delaying. In response he said to me,  that he too runs every Monday and Thursday mornings to shul! Mee K'amcha Yisrael!

    Very nice. (Really!).....But please let me know when Rav Fletcher realizes that he should do the same for Tzahal, for the exact same reasons he felt it important for the firefighters...
