Let him eat cake

I'm not sure what the big debate is about with this jailed terrorist on a hunger strike.

Is this the first time a prisoner went on a hunger strike? Obviously not. Why now do the security forces and legal system suddenly not know how to deal with it?

If we were to l=free every prisoner who went on a hunger strike, they all would.

This prisoner, a terrorist, is an adult responsible for his own decisions. As long as the prison services continue to serve him food, as they are responsible to do, if he chooses to not eat it, it should be his problem. Let him starve to death for all I care.

Or maybe, to paraphrase Marie Antoinette, let him eat cake. maybe we should just give this guy more appealing food, something more enticing to him, and he'll eat it. I don't know what he likes- maybe mac and cheese, maybe steak, maybe a juicy burger.. whatever it might be, that might be the solution.

  1. You're right; no one cares about him. The problem is the violence and riots his death will lead to.
