The Eida is starting a campaign to try to quell the flow of Jews to Har Habayit. Letters and piskei halacha are being publicized, broadcasts around Jerusalem announcing the prohibition..
It might work, it might not. This is nothing new, nor does it bother me.
the new part of the Eida campaign is, as reported by Bechadrei, a placating statement in the letter they composed that says they extend their hand in peace to the non-Jewish residents of the Holy Land.
That actually is very nice, and I like it. I just wonder if and when they have ever extended their hands in peace to their fellow Jews in the Holy Land....

No need to extend their hand to other Jews. It's the nonjews they're afraid of. Pure self-interest.
ReplyDeleteWill that letter ever reach the eyes of the non religious Israelis?
