According to Ynet, the Palestinians are going to be proposing to the United Nations, in UNESCO, via six other Arab states that will submit the proposal on their behalf, that the Western Wall be recognized as being part of the Al Aqsa Mosque compound. (for more details of what else is included in the proposal, see the linked Ynet article)
Despite Israeli efforts, the proposal is expected to pass, considering the automatic majority the Muslim states hold in the committee.
What happens then? Does it become part of the claim they have on Jerusalem for negotiations? Do we get condemned for praying at the Kotel and inciting violence on their end because we are praying in their mosque? Do our rabbis say not to pray at the Kotel so as not to provoke the goyim?

I don't see that it would change the legal status at all, as it is not a matter of international law, which Israel has accepted upon itself. I think that your supposition that it will be used as an excuse to riot and engage in violence is spot-on.
