20, 30, 50, even 150 violent teenagers do not and cannot pose a threat to an entire country.
The security forces are invited to arrest all these extremist kids that are so dangerous and put them on trial for their crimes, whatever they may be. But are we really supposed to believe that these kids are the greatest threat to the State?

If we don't play up the threat, we can't justify torturing them while they're in jail or the efforts to shut down moderate right wing groups just because.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, but your (our Anglo) flaw is that we grew up in a more established and matured democracy. Here, our Bolshevik traditions live on in that the state is of utmost importance over the rights of individuals. Well, the supreme court might not agree, but in nationalistic cases like this, certainly the supreme court is pro-state and anti-nationlism. Leumanut - nationalism is a deragatory word in Israel
ReplyDeleteMaybe they're thinking that just as one captured Jew is worth 1,000 jailed terrorists, so are 150 racist Jewish crazies (doubt there are that many) equal to the threat posed by 150,000 racist Moslem crazies (doubt there are that few)?
ReplyDeleteYou are missing the point. Nobody thinks that they pose a security threat along the lines of Hamas etc. The point is that the actions of people like that have the potential to undermine any claim of Israel to the higher moral ground, and could remove whatever little international support we now have. That danger is a much greater one than Palestinians running around stabbing people, or Hamas lobbing rockets that get shot down by the dozens.
ReplyDeleteI dont know if that is your theory or if you've heard people say that, but shabak spokespeople and heads have been interviewed about this on the radio and they've explicitly said that these kids are a threat to the State as they are trying to create a rebellion to bring down the government and appoint a King of Israel... they say very little Arabs and delegitimizing us to the world..
DeleteYes you (blog owner) are missing the point and you seem to be an unsophisticated boor. These several dozen crazy morons can instigate an all out war. You sound like Bezalel Smotrich who is the weirdest member of Knesset
ReplyDeleteThey can create havoc by their actions by goading the Arabs into a full blown intifada that they hope will destabilize the state.
ReplyDeleteIs this "destabilize the country" goal proven or just what Shabak claims? Was it a manifesto written by yet another Shabak plant?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the threat is a security service that sends masked agent provocateurs to a wedding, with a picture of a murdered child, to set up a group of drunken idiot teenagers.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can come up with a few more conspiracy theories to distract attention away from these evil kids. Their right wing parents were probably happy with their behavior at first until they lost control of them.
ReplyDeleteYes the whole thing was a plant. The manifesto is a plant. The wedding was a plant. The dancing was a plant. The kids arrested were plants. Those in administrative detention is a plant. the lawyer is a plant. Most of the settlements are plants. The right wing politicians are plants. All of the trees in Har Bracha are plants (ok maybe that one is true)
ReplyDeleteNever said the whole thing was a plant, Yes, there are idiot teenage misfit high school drop-outs who believe and say stupid things. I;m sure that few, if any, of their parents are proud that their children are drunken, drop-out juvenile delinquents.
ReplyDeleteBut that doesn't mean that the Shabak wouldn't egg them on with a provocateur in order to distract attention from charges they tortured the detainees.
The incident took place five months ago. Where were these frenzied dances until now? Were there no other weddings at which to celebrate a child's death? Just a coincidence this occurs the same week that protests against torture are being held?
Let's see if the masked fellow is identified, arrested and charged.

ReplyDeleteThe point you're missing is that these "kids" are part of a much larger group - populated with real adults.
Furthermore, as so many have reacted more to the allegations of torture than to what was happening in the video - something along the lines of 'that was wrong, but how could they torture another jew' shows a deep well of non-vocal support. Similar to the mealy mouthed condemnations of terror on the other side that Israeli's are always complaining about.
Where are all the protests against palastinian kids being tortured. Or is that like stone throwing - palastinian kids have moster forearms and shoulders and should be prosecuted for attempted murder for throwing stones, but jewish kids are weak future accountats, so when they throw stones its no biggy.
Bearing in mind that our people have suffered 100 days of daily terror attacks. People live in fear of being stabbed, run-down, hacked to death in the streets, across the country for 100 days. Parents fear when their children leave the house - fear that they will never see them again. And the worst response that we see is a bunch of idiot right-wing kids letting off steam at a private function - not hundreds of protesters marching through the streets shouting 'death to the arabs'... I think it's pretty remarkable actually!
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me that the 'hate-wedding' video was the most appalling thing they'd ever seen.... I replied that I have seen much more appalling videos - the ones where the arab terrorist hacks the Jew to death with a machete.... which one? Oh, there are sadly plenty out there to choose from...
ReplyDeleteI think those people in 'tzfon tel aviv' who are dangerous to the state, fomenting a revolution, etc. They want to change the state to promote immoral acts, prevent development of israeli natural gas resources, selling gas to egypt, buying water from turkey, etc. (I didn't mention any 'religious matters, which is why my points are awkward.)
ReplyDeleteAnd those BGU and TAU etc students?
All fomenting revolution, changing the nature of the state, etc.
Most of this conversation is ridiculous. Only SD has an inkling to what is going on. Just read Sultan Knish and you might get some of the facts straight. Duma and Return of the King. Plus listen to Rav Richter who explains everything cogently, Torture in Holy Land Nothing New
ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you but there are others who know whats going on and have a broader perspective that SD. BTW I listened to 10 minutes of that "cogent" shiur and had to turn it off because it is a perversion of the torah
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment, Neshama.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't have an inking as to what's going on, just healthy skepticism.
I am absolutely not in the same boat as the lunatic "Rav" Richter, nor his lunatic "shiur" linked to on your website.
