Senate passes resolution for Jerusalem (video)

The Senate passed a resolution, unanimously with a vote of 90-0, calling on the President of the USA (Donald Trump) to abide by the law passed in 1995 obligating him to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Besides for being a nice gesture to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, I am not sure what else it does or what it can do. Does this make that law, and the pressure to act on it, stronger? Is it nothing but a nice gesture?

  1. Empty political gesture.

  2. I think it still expresses the sentiment that the embassy should be in Jerusalem. This issue will not go away whether or not the State Department wants it to.
