The proposal, approved by the Law and Justice Committee, would allow service receivers to communicate with the service providers, including the government, by email. Haskel says the requirement for sending faxes is a burden on society as fax machines nowadays are not readily available to many people and it will be more environmentally friendly as it will save all that paper and ink.
No explanation necessary. Anyone living in Israel knows how silly, and frustrating, the demand to send your request or information by fax is.
I do remember a similar proposal being raised in the past. I d not know what happened to it - perhaps it died in one of the various government collapses before making it into law.
