is getting drunk on Purim a מצוה עשה שהזמן גרמא that women are pattur from? while some women out there surely do drink on Purim and even get drunk it seems overwhelmingly to be a male dominated "obligation".
I just saw an article directed at the women entitled "your husband is drunk? here is how to set your Shabbos clock for Shabbos". very patronizing title, but it made me wonder why this is a mitzva that is performed mostly by the men and mostly not by the women. Are they just being responsible designated drivers? Do the women in carless families get drunk?

Women have a requirement to drink on Purim until they don't remember that it's only four weeks until Pesach!
