The people of Israel deserve a full-time Prime Minister. After I finish serving as Prime Minister I will deal with defending myself from the legal issues. The citizens of Israel knew my situation and elected me anyway. If I were to consider only my personal interests, I would defend myself as Prime Minister and not as a private citizen, but I understand that is not what is best for the people of Israel..

    Imagine what could have happened if Olmert had been so altruistic.

    The big scandal in Canada right now is the SNC-Lavalin affair. SNC-Lavalin is a building company that was facing criminal charges that would have prevented them from bidding on future building contracts. They had been lobbying the Federal Government to have the criminal code changed to prevent such consequences. For the good of the country and to prevent job losses The Prime Ministers Office (PMO) to put pressure on the Attorney General to accept a Deferred Prosecution Agreement. When she would not agree there was a cabinet shuffle to get her out of the way. The deal fell apart as the scandal broke. Plenty of heads have already rolled and it has a very good chance of causing the Liberals to lose the upcoming election.

    How often in this country do people justify criminal activity for the good of others? Why stop at exempting himself from prosecution. Why not exempt all his friends who run major corporations that could face job losses by facing criminal prosecution.
