-- Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau
Even if it is necessary, it bothers me a bit too. People are very zealous about shutting the shuls. Again, even if necessary, and it is, it should pain us more and many of us seem to take that project on with tremendous vigor and no second thought. And Rabbi Lau is not saying we should not close the shuls, but it should at least be troubling and painful.

Agree with the Rabbi. This goes for all over, not only Israel because they could just have set a maximum number of men allowed on Shabbat to show honor for the Shabbat and how important it is to H'. Because of the fear of the virus, women don't need to show up until everything will be back to normal and would keep the numbers down. Showing enough Emunah and Bitachon in H' by coming to shul, especially on the Shabbat, would be the protection.
