The issue of whether Ashkenazim can eat kitniyot nowadays has almost completely disappeared form the public discourse this year. An issue was raised if Ashkenazim could possibly eat kitniyot because of the plague, in case of a food shortage. That discussion seems to have been quickly cut off due to there not being a food shortage (not including eggs), but the regular kitniyot discussion seems to not have even begun this year.
The second issue should be the public sale in some places of chametz during Pesach. The law forbids the public sale of chametz on Pesach, with some exceptions. Every year it becomes a fight about places that are selling chametz publicly and a debate over whether this law should be revoked or enforced. This should not be much of an issue this year as because of CoronaVirus most stores will have to remain closed, and it is not common for supermarkets to sell chametz on Pesach in Israel, though in some places it could happen.
The third issue is people being allowed to bring chametz into government buildings and hospitals. In recent years it became a big fight, as security guards were checking incoming visitors for chametz. The debate was a. is that in the purview of their job in the first place and b. should people be not allowed to bring chametz in at all, and what damage is being done by them bringing food in and eating it. Laws have been proposed and this has been fought over numerous times in recent years. Now with Corona spreading and lockdowns in place, with tighter closures over the holidays, people really wont be going anywhere and I expect this to be far less of an issue this year.
