Today I drove past police in the neighborhood shopping center, but they were not stopping cars looking to hand out tickets for hands-free violations and seat-belts. The police today are out looking to fine people, pedestrians and consumers of public transportation, for not wearing masks properly.

The statistical externalities today is more meaningful for a mask than a seat-belt. so it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteAlso a big difference between masks and seat-belts. If I refuse to wear a seat belt, I put my own life at risk, but minimal risk to others. If I refuse to wear a mask, I put everyone else's life at risk, but minimal risk to myself.
