I am pretty sure such a statement needs some qualifications.
Why did he cut their budgets? Do Haredi students not deserve funding of their educational needs? Are they receiving more than their fair share? Is he of the opinion that without core curriculum studies they should not be funded by the State? Were they misusing funds?
There can be many reasons for this, and without explaining why he did what he says he did, it is too open and generic of a statement.
Making this claim, especially in this way, is another statement that makes Saar look as if he is positioning himself against the Haredi parties. he has said a couple of statements in this fashion and I have been somewhat surprised, as he has always been thought of as being close to and reliable for the Haredi parties.
