I know I am not saying anything novel here...
Every day that goes by this police spying on citizens and politicians scandal just gets bigger and bigger. The police in Israel have always been a violent bunch. It might be somewhat understandable with the need to fight terror and violent protests and whatnot, but the image of the police here as law enforcement is not of a body trying to keep the public safe (even though that really is what they are doing) and of being helpful to the public, but more of a forecful unit imposing its will (of what I am not sure - the government? the judiciary? the law? the police?) on the people. And if the people dont like it, too bad on the people - it isnt up to them.
This spying on citizens phones shows the police have gone way too far. This needs to be investigated, and not by police investigators.
