The segula is to write notes containing the chametz within you that needs to be removed/destroyed - bad character traits and the like. You then take those notes and throw them into the fire with your chametz and rid yourself of them with a prayer ( dont know what exactly is said in the prayer but presumably to destroy the unwanted traits and behaviors...
Any of you have more info on this?

In the spirit of R. Yisrael Salanter, working to rid yourself of bad traits is also a segulah for ridding yourself of bad traits.
ReplyDeleteWell, writing something down helps you focus on it, and burning it would make that more concrete. As segulot go, you could do worse
ReplyDeleteI'm not aware of the segula, but the prayer said at Bi'ur Hametz talks about burning the yetzer hara, etc.
