Itamar Ben Gvir has announced that he will be holding a press conference tonight. Ben Gvir is expected to announce that negotiations with Betzalel Smotritch regarding a possible joint run have gone nowhere and is breaking off ties and the two parties will each run alone as independent parties.

With more than two months to go until elections, and I think 1.5 months to go until final party lists have to be submitted, this is hardly a dramatic announcement and more of a negotiating tactic. With 6 or so weeks to go for final lists to be submitted, an announcement now is almost meaningless. They can come together at the last minute and come to an agreement quickly, especially if Netanyahu decides to push them to run together.

We'll see what happens and if it works or not, but the last word is definitely not being said tonight.
