Facebook Status of the Day

This is a fascinating story I saw printed in the Torah Tidbits this past Shabbos by Rabbi Goldscheider. The story is about a town in Germany called Fulda. My grandfather and his family came from that town, and I went to visit the town for a Jewish memorial a few years ago, so this fascinating story held special interest for me.

The one correction, that does not change the story at all, is that Rabbi Michael Cahn did not die in Buchenwald but died in 1920. That is fairly well known and easily discoverable on the Internet and I confirmed it with a friend of mine who is also a great grandson of Rabbi Cahn. Since the story does not have Rabbi Fulda saying in what year it happened, that little tidbit does not change anything.
