When Lapid and Bennett formed their government, from day 1 the Netanyahu-led Opposition opposed it, even good things they did and Right-wing things they did, and they made up stories tot he public about what Lapid would do or was doing. Some members of the Opposition decided that anyone affiliated with them, mayors and the like, should not have anything to do with the government and should not talk with representatives of the government or cooperate with them in any way. They attacked with vicious, both personal and political, attacks on the government decisions, and plenty of untruthful statements in addition to legitimate complaints.
While I thought some of the attacks were over the top and I was actually disappointed by the behavior of many of the politicians and their lack of decency while politically opposing the government I did defend their right and even obligation to oppose the government in their role as Opposition.
And while the politicians are all bickering again now, did Lapid say this or that, is he right, is he wrong, is he making things up, I will say the same thing. The incoming potential government wants Lapid to stop complaining and to stop making things up (as they claim), but he is just doing more or less the same they did to him. Nobody here has the moral high ground.
Lapid has the right to oppose government decisions, just as Netanyahu did last year. This is how the world turns, what goes around comes around.
